February 6th is National Wear Red Day and the AlohaCare team across the state dressed up to support the cause. Our employees banded together to prove that heart health is a priority for our community. At our Oahu office, the staff gathered in the ‘Ohana Room to show their support. We were also honored to have Demi and Lesli from the American Heart Association join us to share their passion for the cause.
What is Wear Red Day?
For decades, heart disease was mistakenly viewed as a “man’s disease.” Wear Red Day was created to dispel that myth and raise awareness about a startling reality: Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined.
By wearing red, we show our support for heart health education, research, and the millions of women fighting cardiovascular disease!
What Can you do to Support Heart Health?
February is Heart Health Month, and the stats show that we all need to be prepared. Every year, roughly 350,000 people experience cardiac arrest outside of a hospital setting. When seconds count, your hands can make the difference.
