For more than 30 years, AlohaCare has upheld a deep tradition of community giving across Hawaiʻi. As a nonprofit safety net health plan serving Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries, our mission has always been rooted in the well-being of our neighbors. Over three decades, we have been privileged to contribute more than $21 million back into our communities through scholarships, grants, sponsorships, and charitable donations.

We recently gathered with community partners, healthcare advocates, and friends to step onto the red carpet and celebrate a major new chapter in this journey: The AlohaCare Foundation.

A Promise Kept to Our Community

Like the intricate weaving of a lei, our progress is defined by the dedication of those who stand with us. The celebration was not just a reflection on how far we’ve come—from our early grant programs to the million-dollar annual commitment of Imua Loa—but a look forward to what we can accomplish together.

To deepen our impact and secure a lasting legacy of accessible care, the AlohaCare Foundation was launched as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The Foundation expands our ability to promote health and wellness by focusing on two critical areas:

  • Strengthening the Healthcare Workforce: Empowering local students and professionals through dedicated scholarships to ensure Hawaiʻi’s healthcare system remains resilient.
  • Addressing Social Determinants of Health: Looking beyond traditional medicine to invest in vital, foundational resources like nutrition and education that directly impact daily well-being.

Bridging Gaps, Strengthening Roots

Our goal is to close the gap in health disparities and ensure a thriving, resilient future for all of Hawaiʻi’s residents. But we cannot do it alone.

To our incredible partners, providers, and community members who joined us for this special evening: your presence is a testament to our shared mission. Your dedication is the foundation upon which we build true health equity.

Mahalo nui loa for standing with us, weaving this legacy, and helping us nurture a healthier Hawaiʻi for generations to come.
